Help and getting started
Start with a small selection. Review the exact changes, then approve only when you are ready.

1. Create a price task
- Open Create price task on the task dashboard. Give it a name, choose increase or decrease, enter a percentage, and choose all products or a product tag.
- Save the draft and open its preview. Saving a draft does not change prices.
- Build the filtered preview, select the variants you want and prepare them for review.
- Open the saved review. Check its exact variant count, current prices and proposed prices. Preparing a review does not apply or schedule changes.
- Choose Apply when ready, or explicitly approve a schedule. Follow the background job until it finishes.
The price field is changed on native Shopify variants. Compare-at prices stay unchanged. Gift cards and bundle parents are excluded. External-app extras, market-specific prices and checkout discounts are not evaluated.
2. Narrow your selection and reuse rules
Filters support product name, tags, collections, status, variant title, SKU, option values and current price ranges. Choose the actual option name, such as Colour or Size, from the dropdown before selecting its values.
- Include ALL: each variant must satisfy every include condition.
- Include ANY: a variant must satisfy at least one include condition.
- Exclude: matching exclusion conditions remove candidates. ALL or ANY applies within that group.
- Multiple values: any listed value can match within one condition. Text matching ignores case; tags and option values use exact values.
Build / refresh filtered preview after changing rules. Select individual rows across pages, or select all matching selectable variants and uncheck exceptions. Reserved variants cannot be selected; open the linked execution to understand why they are reserved.
Expand Reusable filter presets to save a named set of rules. A preset stores rules only, not selected IDs, prices, approvals or schedules. Load it and build a fresh preview to read the current catalog. Changing rules clears the previous selection.
Previews expire after 30 minutes. Matching counts describe the captured preview. New catalog matches are not added automatically to a saved review. Selected records are checked again before preparation; changes can require a fresh preview.
3. Schedule approved prices
Open an unstarted saved review and choose Schedule this saved review. Set a future start, check the time zone and optionally choose an automatic restoration time. Saving the approved schedule authorizes those exact saved changes to run later. The server must be running for automation to execute.
Follow the schedule from the dashboard or its saved review. Cancelling a schedule stops future automation; it does not restore applied prices. Restore those separately when required. If the server misses an approved start window, review the result and approve a new schedule rather than assuming the sale ran.
For an optional shopping button, enter button text such as Shop the sale and a storefront path such as /products/stm-video-a or /collections/sale. Copy only the path after your store domain, starting with /. Do not enter a full URL, Shopify admin URL or temporary preview link. Enter both fields or leave both empty.
4. Add an optional sale promotion
Expand the optional promotion settings on a saved price review. Choose a template, write your sale message and configure images, overlay, alignment, typography, width and placement. Newsletter fields are for visitors who want news about future offers; Shopify handles the native signup form.
Save the promotion settings and its approval. Saving a design alone does not apply sale prices. Task-linked promotions appear only when their execution and visibility rules permit. Newsletter-only designs can also have an independent activation setting.
Enable the app's Task Promotions embed in the theme used by the storefront and save the theme settings. Check an actual storefront page; Shopify's temporary product-preview pages may not show the app proxy or promotion correctly. Selected-products visibility requires an eligible product page. A task-linked sale promotion hides when its execution is restored or no longer eligible.
5. Find and create missing native variants
Open Find missing variants on the dashboard. Inspect the product's native options and combinations. A missing combination is a reminder, not an error: it can be intentionally absent. An out-of-stock variant already exists and is not a missing combination.
- Select only the combinations you want to create. Add proposed option values when needed.
- Set the price, SKU and supported tax/shipping settings. Save the selected combinations for review.
- Check the saved review and explicitly approve creation. For multiple products, use a bulk plan, review each product's proposed rows and approve the bulk creation job.
- Wait for verification. Record the returned variant IDs and check the results in Shopify.
Creation has no automatic undo or deletion. Existing variants remain. New variants are requested unpublished with inventory untracked; review stock and publication separately in Shopify. Compare-at price, media, barcode, weight, cost and metafields are not automatically copied. External-app options are outside this tool.
A product changed after review may be blocked. Inspect the current product and prepare a fresh review. If an outcome needs checking, use the recovery action instead of submitting another creation request.
6. Understand results and recover safely
- DRAFT / REVIEW
- A draft is editable. A saved review fixes the selection and proposed changes; it still needs explicit approval to run.
- QUEUED / RUNNING
- The server is processing the job. You can leave the page. Do not submit a duplicate job.
- APPLIED / RESTORED
- Applied prices were verified, or saved original prices were restored and verified. Check the individual results for mixed outcomes.
- CREATED / COMPLETED
- Native variant creation or the relevant background operation finished. Open its results for IDs and details.
- BLOCKED / FAILED / NEEDS REVIEW
- Open the record and read the reason. Changed data, reservations, interruptions or an unverified write can need a fresh review or a results recheck.
- CANCELLED
- Future work was stopped. This does not mean previously applied prices were restored or created variants were deleted.
Price restoration checks that the current price is still the price this execution applied. Changed or missing variants are left for review. Avoid manual edits or other apps changing the same catalog data during execution; Shopify does not provide an atomic price check-and-write lock.
Use Recheck results when a write outcome is unverified. Do not treat a failed network response as proof that Shopify made no change. Native creation recovery records preserve evidence; closing a recovery record does not undo creation.
Archiving hides eligible finished records from the current list; it does not undo work or erase recovery history. Duplicating a task creates a new draft and does not copy approval. After reinstall, previous automation stays stopped: inspect retained records before starting new work.
When you need help
Include the task or job ID, status, exact message, what you expected and the steps that led to the issue. A screenshot of the relevant result is useful. Never share app secrets, access tokens, environment files or full authenticated URLs.
